All-on-6 in Turkey: frequently asked questions
Short, plain answers. Each one links to the page that goes into detail.
All-on-6 in Turkey usually takes two trips around four months apart. British citizens can usually visit without a visa, but your passport must be valid for 150 days after arrival. GHIC and EHIC cards don't cover planned treatment, so check your travel insurance. Choose a clinic licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health, get a written plan and guarantee, and arrange a UK dentist for aftercare.

Common questions
How many trips does All-on-6 in Turkey take?
Usually two: one for the scan, implants and fixed temporary teeth, and one for the final teeth after the implants have healed.
How long between the two trips?
Usually around four months, while the implants bond with the bone. Grafts or slow healing can make it longer.
How long will I stay each time?
It depends on your plan. With Precious Dental the package includes 4 hotel nights on the first implant visit and 5 on the second.
Will I go home with teeth after the first trip?
Usually, yes. Fixed temporary teeth are fitted after the implants are placed, where your surgeon judges it safe.
Do I need a visa?
Not usually, with a full British citizen passport, for visits of up to 90 days in any 180 days. GOV.UK says to check the visa rules if entering for medical purposes.
How long must my passport be valid?
At least 150 days after the date you arrive in Turkey, with at least one blank page.
Can I use my GHIC or EHIC?
No. They aren't valid in Turkey and don't cover planned treatment abroad.
Will travel insurance cover me?
Ask your insurer before you go. The NHS advises telling them about your plans to have treatment abroad.
Can I take my own medicines?
Yes, and take enough for the whole trip. British prescriptions aren't accepted in Turkish pharmacies, and some medicines are controlled in Turkey.
Is it safe?
It depends on the clinic. The UK government advises discussing plans with your UK dentist and doing your own research, and points to the Ministry of Health's approved providers on Health Türkiye.
How do I check a clinic?
Licence, named dentist and qualifications, written plan, implant brand, implant passport, written guarantee and aftercare. See our twelve checks.
Are flights included?
Usually not. With Precious Dental, the hotel and transfers are included but flights are not.
Can someone come with me?
Yes. Tell the clinic in advance so rooms and transfers can be arranged.
Who looks after my implants when I'm home?
A UK dentist, for check-ups and cleaning. Give them your implant passport and copies of your scans.
What if something goes wrong?
See a UK dentist, or call NHS 111 if it's urgent, and contact your clinic with photos. Your written guarantee decides what's covered and who pays for travel.

Thinking about the trip?
Tell us where you're flying from and what you'd like done. A patient coordinator replies in plain English, and will say so honestly if travelling isn't the right step for you.
